Circular Economy in Construction Industry: CECI

" A Joint Effort to Fully Use Construction Resources to Sustainably Drive Thai Industries "

Material Waste: A Challenge for National Development

The construction industry is an industry that has experienced continuous growth in line with national development. A massive amount of resources is required in the construction of basic infrastructure which will uplift the quality of life for the general public. At the same time, this increasing amount of waste from the construction and demolition of buildings is difficult to properly manage, resulting in waste problems in the construction industry.

Initiating a Joint Effort to Fully Put Construction Resources to Use

In order to sustainably develop the nation economically, socially, and environmentally, the Thai construction industry has joined together to establish a network know as Circular Economy in Construction Industry: CECI with the aim to promote manufacturing processes, management, and solutions that implement circular economy to decrease the amount of material waste. In the case of leftover waste, the waste must be either reused or recycled to ensure that its value is not diminished and to minimize the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

Real Action: Revolutionizing the Industry for a Sustainable Future

Today, companies in the network are working together and sharing the ways to apply circular economy such as using a mobile crusher to cut off piles at construction sites to use as an alternative to sub-base, designing structures that utilizes natural methods combined with technology for quality living that also saves energy, and transforming leftover concrete to sub-base with the goal to ensure a sustainable future for the construction industry and the nation.
