SCG, led by Mr. Dayin Kiatkwankul, Marketing Director – Roof Business of CPAC Roof Tile Company Limited, received “Building a Good Society Award” in the category of Residential and Environmental Development projects from Pracharat Social Working Group (E6). The award was presented to SCG by General Anantaporn Kanjanarat, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, to recognize SCG’s cooperation in the public-private partnership or Pracharat program. SCG has introduced a series of housing development initiatives ranging from standard housing models for senior citizens and people with disabilities, training courses for local technicians to a career network of home building and renovation for the elderly. Besides, SCG took part in establishing five centers of Universal Design Center (UDC) nationwide to offer free-of-charge home advice service to the public. The public-private partnership is a government-driven program that seeks to drive national development by fostering cooperation joined by public sector, private sector, and civil society organizations to tackle various issues and sustainably enhance the living standards of the Thai people. The Pracharat Social Working Group (E6) launched a framework which encompasses five core areas:
- Employment of disabled workers
- Re-employment of elderly
- Promotion of retirement savings
- Healthy housing and environment for living
- Road Safety.
